Overview
Our pope reel systems ensure smooth and controlled winding of finished paper reels. The reel spool starter enables reliable threading with minimal downtime. Integrated spool storage improves handling efficiency and safety. The system delivers stable reel formation and reduced edge damage.
Employed at line end to form uniform, high-tension reels (up to 3m dia., 100-150 tons) for kraft liner/tissue, with starters initiating wind and storage managing empty/full spools automatically.
Scope of Delivery
- Pope Reel - Includes reel drum/spool holder (cast steel), hydraulic lift/cut-off knife, oscillation motors, tension/load cells, frame with bearings, and variable-speed drives.
- Reel Spool Starter - Pneumatic/hydraulic starter unit, transfer rails/arms, spool magazine (5-10 capacity), sensors for web break detection, and quick-change adapters.
- Spool Storage System - Cartridge storage racks (floor/ceiling mount), conveyor chains, hoist/crane integration, labelling scanners, and PLC controls for inventory tracking.
Other common components include Drives/instrumentation (speed/tension), lubrication systems, safety fencing, spares (knives/seals/bearings), and commissioning support.
