Core Cutting MachinesOverview
RC Paper Machines supplies dewatering boxes engineered for efficient water removal in the forming section. Precision slot design improves drainage without disturbing sheet formation. Durable construction supports continuous operation under demanding conditions. These boxes help increase machine speed and sheet consistency.
Positioned in the wire section post-headbox to drain white water via flat boxes (leading edge foils), hump plates, and suction units, suiting low-consistency (0.5-1%) kraft liner or tissue formation at speeds up to 600 m/min.
Scope of Delivery
- Includes foil box assemblies (stainless steel, 1-3m coverage), vacuum suction boxes (with trays/pumps), hump plates, ceramic covers, mounting beams/rails, and water collection trays.
- Other common components include Adjustable vacuum controls, ceramic blades/tubes, spacers/seals, drive integration sensors, spares (covers/gaskets), and commissioning alignment tools.
Key Advantages
- Progressive dewatering (initial 20-30% solids) via multi-element arrays minimises fibre flocculation and maximises retention for uniform kraft/tissue sheets.
- Vacuum-assisted boxes boost drainage by 15-25% at higher speeds, reducing white water carryover and chemical use while preventing wire marking.
- Adjustable foil angles/shims optimise shear forces for basis weight profiles, enhancing formation energy efficiency in Fourdrinier setups.
- Corrosion-resistant ceramic/polymer covers extend life 2-3x in acidic brake environments; low-friction designs cut drive power by 10%.
- Modular design allows retrofits for speed upgrades, improving machine runnability and pulp yield.
